Mechanical Engineering Award for Employee
Wirth Research is delighted its investment in the future of engineering is continuing to pay off, as employee Jason Easton achieves an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
In a sector with an acknowledged skills shortage for the future, the company realises the importance of investing in training all staff in order to secure the company’s future growth.
“I first approached Wirth Research showing interest in moving into the design office. I was met with full support, and we decided the HNC in Mechanical Engineering would be a logical step in furthering my education and making me a more suitable candidate for such a role”, said Jason Easton. “Over two years, Wirth again supported me fantastically, allowing me the one day a week to go to Newbury College, and financially.”
Louise Hoskin, HR Executive, said, “We were looking for a course to challenge Jason and give him the right skill set for the company. This course was right for him and for us. We wanted to support Jason in his commitment to the 2 year training course.
For staff retention, it is important to work with our people to develop careers here. As a company, we’re able to offer our team a diverse range of programmes, from motorsports into architecture, defence, aerospace, refrigeration and the commercial vehicle sector.”
Jason continued, “2 years later, I am over the moon. The course is completed, and I’ve been accepted for a Project Administration role within engineering. It’s a fantastic feeling, working for a company where I can see real career prospects.”
Jason will continue learning within his new role. He will receive guidance from his colleagues and the opportunity to take part in training courses about the tools he uses. Ultimately, Jason hopes to join the mechanical design team. Wirth Research continues to support him and the rest of their staff in achieving their career aims.
