Applications are welcome from software developers and engineers with a good programming background. Applicants should be educated to graduate level or equivalent, and qualifications should include subjects in a computer science, scientific, mathematical or engineering subject.

The ability to prove and demonstrate the development of new ideas and tools from idea through to production is an essential requirement for this role. Applicants must be proficient in C++ (ie. use on a daily basis) and have exposure to a variety of programming concepts and languages. Experience in numerical simulation of mathematical models would be advantageous. Must be comfortable working on Windows. Experience with Linux would be a bonus.

We are looking for an R&D Technician to work within our R&D department. They will be responsible for preparing and performing testing of components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate will be a hands on, enthusiastic individual with proven experience of working from technical drawings. They will need to be confident and competent in all aspects of their job and be capable of a high standard of work, self motivated, flexible, able to work on their own with a ‘can do’ attitude, able to meet tight deadlines.

 There may be the requirement for some overseas travel.

Typical tasks will include:

This role will require someone with strong analytical skills with a problem solving mentality. Essential skills and qualifications required for this role should include a strong Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering Degree or equivalent with a 2:1 or above. We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to work within our IT department.  They will be responsible for assisting in the provision and maintenance of all IT services and systems within Wirth Research.  Responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. The role will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company standards.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  User support for Windows desktops (7 & 10) – including software installations/updates.
  • Install, configure and maintain windows server 2008R2/2012/2012R2
  • Responsible for the maintaining of the companies HPC resources
  • Linux support and administration
  • Monitoring of network systems
  • Monitoring of Anti-Virus installations & improving security where possible.
  • Maintain availability of corporate IT systems: File server, Exchange Email server, Network, Phone systems.
  • Maintain and configure SCCM, SCOM and DPM environment
  • Take ownership of IT support issues
  • Maintaining the integrity and availability of the Infrastructure
  • Provide technical support for projects as directed
  • Provide continuous improvement of documentation/best practice adoption within IT
  • Responsible for ensuring the implementation of data backup/recovery procedures
  • Responsible for securing data from internal and external attack

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong Microsoft skills – Active Directory, Windows & Server Operating Systems, Server Builds, SCCM
  • Networking – Knowledge of WAN’s, LANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, SAN’s, VPN’s, VLAN’s, IP Services.
  • Any experience of Linux is desirable.
  • Good understanding of Virtualisation technologies.

  • Responsible for clearly defining the project’s targets/deliverables and co-ordination of tasks (resources and capacity) derived from each project specification
  • Working with Department Heads & Managers to identify project resource and capacity exceptions & find resolutions
  • Responsible for the on time, on budget delivery of projects
  • Maintain flow of communication of project progress to client(s) and to relevant departments, including flow of communication into production
  • Responsible for the chairing of project management meetings & reporting the outcomes

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven project management experience within an engineering project/company
  • Good level of technical and engineering understanding – Motorsport &/or Aerospace experience is preferable
