Our partnership with some of the most high-profile and innovative architectural firms has led to sustainable, cutting edge and cost effective outcomes for high-rise building projects.

22 Bishopsgate

This project applied Wirth Research’s expert CFD and aerodynamic knowledge to solve wind microclimate issues, help obtain planning and perform wind loading assessments.

By utilising high resolution CFD, we were able to understand and improve the wind microclimate surrounding the Lipton Rogers’ high-rise Central London building project, 22 Bishopsgate. Our unrivalled CFD capabilities were used to visualise the main causes of pedestrian comfort issues, which had previously not been understood. We were then able to provide solutions that helped the building get planning.

Wind streamlines passing 22 Bishopsgate

Bloomberg London

This project applied Wirth Research’s expert CFD and aerodynamic knowledge to a large scale, high-profile, city centre project, considering natural ventilation and the internal environment.

By utilising high resolution CFD, we were able to analyse the Foster and Partners designed Bloomberg London Building’s natural ventilation system performance. Using our specially formulated techniques on natural ventilation and external cityscape modelling, Foster and Partners were able to validate the buildings natural ventilation capability in all wind conditions.

Apple Park

This project applied Wirth Research’s expert CFD and aerodynamic knowledge to a large scale, high-profile, considering natural ventilation and the internal/external environment interaction.

By utilising high resolution CFD, we were able to support the application of natural ventilation into the Foster and Partners Apple Park. Using our specially formulated techniques on built environment external and internal airflow modelling, Foster and Partners were able to validate the buildings natural ventilation capability in all wind conditions.
