Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager to work within our Operations department. They will be responsible for managing the delivery of Company projects through the complete product lifecycle, on time and to agreed budget.

The successful candidate will need to be confident and competent in all aspects of their job and be capable of a high standard of work, self motivated, flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude and able to meet tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the key stakeholders (internal & external), responsible for forming project teams as required
  • Working closely with the programme’s Chief Engineer throughout, you will be responsible for gathering the technical requirements for each project, considering & reporting the impact on project targets and deliverables
  • Responsible for clearly defining the project’s targets/deliverables and co-ordination of tasks (resources and capacity) derived from each project specification
  • Working with Department Heads & Managers to identify project resource and capacity exceptions & find resolutions
  • Responsible for the on time, on budget delivery of projects
  • Maintain flow of communication of project progress to client(s) and to relevant departments, including flow of communication into production
  • Responsible for the chairing of project management meetings & reporting the outcomes

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven project management experience within an engineering project/company
  • Good level of technical and engineering understanding – Motorsport &/or Aerospace experience is preferable
  • Challenges data and current ways of thinking
  • Experience of Project Management & Reporting Systems & Project Planning Tools, MS Project
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Strong team player

R&D Technician

R&D Technician

Main Purpose:

Perform assembly, testing and support functions for all testing in order to determine the performance of products and designs relative to key parameters such as safety, functionality, customer requirements or to further understanding.  Maintain quality and safety standards within the test workshop and off site.

Reporting to the Senior R&D Technician, this role will ideally suit an individual early in their engineering career.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for, performing and recording testing of components and assemblies to set specifications
  • Component assembly for production and test to technical drawings procedures and specifications
  • Liaising with relevant departments on requirements to meet testing schedules
  • Ensuring that H&S guidelines and workshop best practice are followed within test workshop including advising engineers on correct methods
  • Performing workshop equipment maintenance and administration
  • Advise on development of test procedures and equipment
  • Involvement in design and manufacture of mock up and test assemblies

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow technical drawings and manuals
  • Methodical and disciplined approach
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems
  • A basic understanding of electronics, instrumentation and software would be desirable
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment

Design Engineer (Graduate)

Design Engineer (Graduate)

We are looking for an individual who is keen to develop their engineering skills within our design department. You will become part of an effective team responsible for the design of complex and precision components and the design of mechanical systems /composites and assemblies from concept through to final manufacturing drawings.

The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and possess some knowledge of 3D CAD.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

  • A Degree in mechanical engineering or time served apprentice
  • Ideally 1+ year of industry experience in the design of mechanical systems and assemblies from concept through to final manufacturing drawings
  • Experience in the design of both machined and fabricated components
  • Experience of hydraulics/pneumatics systems specification or design will be considered an advantage
  • Ability to produce drawings to BS 8888 or ASME Y14.5 or similar internationally recognised standards for effective component manufacture
  • Demonstrate an understanding and experience of mechanical components from a hands on perspective
  • 3D solid modelling ability (preferably on NX8.5 though experience of CATIA V5 / Solidworks etc will be considered)
