Wirth Research is a pioneering company specialising in research, development, design and manufacture for the motorsport industry and other sectors such as commercial vehicles and architecture.
The successful candidate will need to be confident and competent in all aspects of their job and be capable of a high standard of work, self motivated and be able to meet tight deadlines.
The main focus of the role will be to provide support to CFD methodology and the aerodynamic development of our architecture project.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse numerical and graphical aero data and interpret flow structures
- Generate detailed reports of work carried out, conclusions and next steps
- Diagnose and fix problems
- Contribute ideas for new aerodynamic designs
- Generate CAD schemes for new aerodynamic designs
- Verify mesh quality and boundary conditions
- Contribute to the development of departmental tools and processes
Essential skills and qualifications:
- Graduate in good Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering Degree or equivalent, 2:1 or better
- Basic understanding of CFD processes
- Good understanding of aerodynamics
- Challenges data and current ways of thinking
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
- Strong team player
- Powerpoint, Excel and Word experience
